A new & local, family florist based in Whalley, Lancashire.

I’m Megan and I started Petal & Fern with the aim of creating beautiful floral designs whilst keeping a keen focus on seasonality and sustainability.

I first got into floristry in 2014 whilst I was working on Super yachts in Mallorca. While on the yachts I was taught the basics of flower arranging, as we often needed to create interesting displays for our guests.

Having previously graduated with a degree in Design, it was exciting to be creating again and so I decided to pursue the floristry further.

I found work with a florist in Mallorca and was thrown straight into a busy season of Weddings and Events. Whether it was a romantic wedding on the beach or a fiesta at a typical Majorcan finca, I learnt how to make beautiful floral designs to match any setting.

After a couple of years of wedding work I moved to London, where I was employed at Jane Packer and McQueens. It was a whirlwind - one day I’d be in their shops creating bouquets and next I was up at 2am to go and install floral displays in hotels such as Claridges and The Carlton Tower Jumeirah.

Having gained the confidence and freedom to develop my own personal style, I left London and moved back to Lancashire to create Petal & Fern.
